Onsite Housing
Shift Workers
As a shift worker at Fusion Mornington Peninsula, you have the unique opportunity to contribute to a team of staff dedicated to improving the lives of young people who reside within the housing service.
A shift worker’s primary responsibility is to be the ‘go to worker’ for young people. During your time on shift, you will be expected to facilitate community alongside young people and lead tenants, contributing to the safe and welcoming environment of the housing service.
Shift workers provide crucial support to our wider team by assisting with daily housekeeping and administration tasks while on duty. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to Fusion’s ‘Living Skills Program’ by assisting young people with tasks such as preparing dinner.
Shift workers are important mentors for the young people residing at Fusion Mornington Peninsula. As such it is crucial that shift workers actively model the actions and values that reflect a healthy and productive lifestyle.
Shift workers generally cover one shift per week or fortnight – 10am-4pm or 4pm-10pm Monday – Sunday (as negotiated with our housing coordinator)
Lead Tenant
Onsite Housing
As a lead Tenant residing at Fusion Mornington your core role will be to share life with the young people residing within the program and demonstrate a positive and productive lifestyle through your own actions and conduct within our community.
Terms of Position: Commit to a minimum stay of 12 months in our home with reviews every three months. Live on site and be available for two shifts per week from 4pm – until 10am the following day or during the day from 10am – 4pm and one weekend shift per month from Saturday 4pm until Sunday 4pm the following day (as negotiated).
Lead tenants reside onsite and through the implementation of pro social role modelling in order to mentor young people to make positive choices and develop a productive lifestyle.
By sharing in community and maintaining the household alongside young people Lead Tenants are key to the programs delivery of Living skills training.
Lead Tenants have their own furnished bedroom however bathroom facilities are shared.

Peer support
groups
Fusion runs various support groups for young people that emphasise personal growth and identity formation, engagement with new ideas and recreational opportunities, and connection to peers and caring adults. These groups usually consist of between 4-8 young people and may be gender specific or mixed.
We currently have male and female groups running in Frankston North and Mornington respectively.
Duties may Include:
- Individual and group interactions
- Facilitating targeted sessions, where appropriate (such as running a session on stereotyping or gender)
- Involvement in recreational activities
- Transporting young people
- Planning and organising events
These groups may also attend Fusion’s camps, and volunteers are encouraged to attend where possible.

Op Shop
Team Members
Raising funds for Fusion’s work with at risk young people and families, our two Op Shops offer the opportunity to contribute to our community and for young people to develop employability skills.
No experience necessary and all training will be provided before you start, plus ongoing on the job training.
Duties Include:
- Serving customers
- Sorting donations
- Displaying stock
Times:
Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm
If you have a heart to see communities transformed, this could be the right place for you. We are currently seeking applications from people who can commit to a full day of volunteering each week.
Gardening
Team
Join our monthly working bee to keep our property maintained!
1st Saturday of every month
Duties Include:
All things gardening and home maintenance – mowing, whipper snipping, weeding and more!
Don’t underestimate the contribution you would be making by applying for this volunteer role.
Training will be provided.
Weekly cleaner
Youth Housing Service
This is not an ordinary cleaning job. The role is designed to complement the ongoing work of our residents and lead tenants.
Duties may Include:
- Clean kitchen – benchtops, cooktop, oven, floors
- Clean-out fridge
- Vacuum and mop all communal spaces
- Clean 3 bathrooms
This role helps maintain a large house. While residents are learning life skills and doing a great job, having someone go over the house once a week makes a huge difference.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and will enjoy contributing to our community. Don’t underestimate the impact you will have in applying for this role.
