Welcome to the Good Neighbour Project
Fusion Mornington Peninsula, a grassroots community that has lived alongside people experiencing homelessness for around 40 years, invites you to connect deeper into your own humanity.
Research shows us that the connections we have with others help us to thrive in life – and this is most important in times of personal crisis. These connections are often taken for granted and for someone experiencing homelessness or who is vulnerable to crisis, these connections are too often unhealthy, unstable, or do not exist.
The Good Neighbour Project is a challenge to connect. Do we recognise our place within such a community? That by being more connected to others we may, in fact, be the healing factor to our neighbour’s vulnerability? From my own experience, I also want to name that there are many times in life where we need the healing support of others. None of us are immune from the need to be connected in healthy ways.
This challenge is about realigning ourselves with the greater story of our neighbourhood. It is about connection with yourself, others, and the land on which you live. When you sign up you will receive your Good Neighbour Journal and everything you need to complete 21 challenges over 30 days that will show you how ordinary being a good neighbour can be – anyone can do it! This is not meant to be done alone – grab a group of friends to do the challenge with and share your reflections.
Remember we are all human together.
